3 Stampin' Up! Hot Air Balloon Fun Fold Cards + Video Tutorials

The Lighter Than Air Designer Paper has been one of my favorites! If you haven't gotten it yet, be sure to grab a pack while supplies last until April 30! Last week, I shared some card ideas using this versatile designer paper and the Hot Air Balloon Bundle and today I have a few more ideas to inspire you! You are going to love these three fun fold cards that are versatile enough to create with whatever designer paper and stamps you have at home!

Here is one of the first cards that I made with this suite when I first pre-ordered it back in December. I created an Easy Center Step Card with some height -- a perfect design to showcase the Hot Air Balloon imagery!

Easy Center Step Card Measurements: 

• 4 ¼” x 10” Azure Afternoon Cardstock, scored at 1 ½”, 3”, and 6 ½” 
• 2 ¾” x 8 ½” Azure Afternoon Cardstock, scored at 5 ½” 
• 2 ½” x 5 ¼” Balmy Blue Cardstock 
• (2) ¾” x 3 ¼’ Lighter Than Air Designer Paper 
• (2) ¾” x 1¼” Lighter Than Air Designer Paper 
• 3 ¼” x 4” Basic White Cardstock (inside)

The first time I saw the Envelope Flap Card was at our Summer Vacation Shoebox Swap last summer. My friend Chris Anderson shared this fun fold design using a different stamp set and designer paper and I loved how easy it was! I was excited to recreate it using the Lighter Than Air Card. This is a great card design for 6" x 6" paper packs because the flap uses a 6" x 6" piece of designer paper. Check out the measurements below and then watch my video tutorial to learn how to create this fun fold at home.

Envelope Fold Card Measurements

• 6” x 6” Designer Paper
• (2) 2-3/8” x 3 ¾” Designer Paper
• 4” x 10 ½” Cardstock, scored at 2-5/8”
• 4 ¼” x 5 ½” Card Base
• 3 ¾” x 5” Basic White Cardstock (inside)

She shared her version of this fun fold card for the Great, Big Card Swap a year or two ago and I have been wanting to create my own version ever since! Here's the card that I designed using the Lighter Than Air Suite that I shared during a recent Sunday Stamping video.

Pull down on the white cardstock flap and a mini card pops open!

The secret to the mechanism is a piece of cellophane. If you don't have any Cello Bags (they recently retired and sold out), you could also use a piece of the Clear Envelopes or even a piece of a plastic shopping bag!
